What can we do with food?
We figured out that “food” is just the flesh of another earthling with “calories” stored in it. But where does flesh come from and how does it have energy in it? What happens when you burn a Dorito?
Exchange ideas about the materials and forces used to make flesh on earth, including what the “calories” in flesh are, where they come from, and how flesh is used by earthlings.
Create a few drawings or models that help explain how flesh and energy make their way into earthlings and what earthlings can do with this stuff.
Trace the sources of flesh and energy that would enter your body if you ate a McDonald’s Cheeseburger, including local cornfields and feedlots.
Look over our experiences together in this section and reflect on the things you put into and got out of class.
